Passing of Andreas Galanakis
It is with great sadness and regret that we announce to you the passing of our very dear colleague and friend, Andreas Galanakis on Saturday morning, 16 September. As many of you know, Andreas served as an inspiring and dedicated Policy Director at AmCham EU since joining us in 2010. He bravely battled pancreatic cancer since his shock diagnosis in early June 2016 and throughout the last year he amazed us all with his strong spirit, resiliency and incredible dignity at all times. He is survived by his two young sons, Raphael 7 and Matthias 5, wife Myrto, mother Georgia, and brother Stylianos.
For those of you who knew Andreas and would like to express your condolences to his family, you can send a personal message to them at Galanakisfamily@amchameu.eu. We will collect your messages and ensure that his family receives them.
Here you can find a message with additional information on Andreas and his funeral wishes from his dear friend Georgios Kritikos. AmCham EU will be organising in due course a commemoration to celebrate his life and work, for those wishing to attend. We will send you more information as soon as we can.
