Susan Danger is CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues. She has full strategic and operational responsibility for the association and represents it externally. AmCham EU is a membership organisation supporting over 150 US corporate companies, international business, and law and consultancy firms in the area of public affairs.
Susan has dedicated her entire career to advancing transatlantic cooperation. She joined AmCham EU in 1995 as Communications Manager, becoming Communications & Operations Manager in 2000. Since 2002 she has been leading the organisation as Managing Director and since 2016 as CEO. In 2003 she oversaw the re-branding of AmCham EU and its separation from AmCham Belgium.
AmCham EU has been voted Best EU Trade Association of the year in 2021 by BestinBrussels.eu. In 2017 AmCham EU was awarded for the fourth time the Trade Association/Professional Body of the Year Award, having previously won the award in 2009, 2012 and 2014.
Susan was named by POLITICO as one of the top 20 women influencers in Brussels in 2016 and 2020.
Susan was elected as Chair of AmChams in Europe (ACE) for the period 2020-2022. AmChams in Europe (ACE) serves as the umbrella organisation for 45 American Chambers of Commerce (AmChams) in 43 countries throughout Europe and Eurasia. She has also served as Vice-Chair (2009 -2014) and was a Member of its Executive Committee (2005-2008).
Susan was appointed member of the Governing Board of the European Policy Center in March 2021.
A graduate of the University of Bath, UK, with a BA in European Studies, French and German, Susan’s career developed in London in marketing and communications within the tour operation industry, where prior to coming to Brussels she worked for Thomson Tour Operations.
A dual UK and Belgian citizen fluent in English, German and French and conversant in Dutch and Spanish, Susan Danger lives in Brussels with her husband and has three children.
Lucia joined AmCham EU in March 2019 as an executive assistant and advisor to CEO. She supports and advises the head of the organisation focusing on advocacy, public relations, operations and particularly on the outward-facing role of the CEO in representing AmCham EU and its members.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Lucia worked at the Institute for European Environmental Policy, a sustainability think tank in Brussels, as part of the Executive team, supporting the work of the Executive Director, Board and the management group.
Lucia holds a MA in European Studies and transnational perspectives from KU Leuven in Belgium and BA in Area Studies from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. During her studies in Leuven, Lucia participated in the Immersion Program at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.
Lucia is a Slovak national and speaks fluent English. She has a working knowledge of French and is currently learning Dutch.
Konrad joined AmCham EU in September 2021 as a Management Intern, supporting the CEO and the team, as well as helping with events, meetings and the daily workings of AmCham EU. He also assists the EU-UK Task Force.
Konrad is currently part-way through his Bachelor’s degree in Politics with Economics at the University of Bath.
Konrad is a Polish national, fluent in English and Polish.
As Director of Public Affairs, Thibaut advises on advocacy strategy related to a range of sectoral and horizontal policy issues. He leads AmCham EU’s outreach to the press and crafts the external messaging of the Chamber. He also coordinates AmCham EU’s content team and oversees the production of policy materials, research and publications.
Prior to this, Thibaut served as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director from 2014 until 2016. He supported and advised the Managing Director and worked closely with AmCham EU’s Board of Directors and senior management.
Thibaut holds a Master’s degree in European Politics from the Institut d’études européennes (IEE-ULB) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He also studied at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and McGill University in Canada.
Thibaut is a Belgian national. He is fluent in English and French, and has a good command of Dutch.
Roger Coelho is Senior Policy Director at the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues.
Mr Coelho joined AmCham EU in 2008 as Communications Officer, becoming Policy Officer in 2010. In 2012 he became Policy Manager and in June 2016 he became Acting Policy Director, with responsibility for the Advocacy and Content teams. He oversees advocacy planning and strategy as well as the creation of reports and studies. He also oversees relations with the press.
Mr Coelho holds a BA Honours degree in European Studies and Political Science from Trinity College at the University of Toronto and a MA in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, he worked at the Information and Communication Unit in DG Enlargement at the European Commission, Houston Consulting Europe (now Kreab) and at Pinnacle Public Relations in Brussels.
Stefano Marmo is Senior Policy Manager at the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues.
Mr Marmo is responsible for overseeing the association’s work on economic policy and horizontal strategy. He also leads the policy engagement with the AmChams in Europe.
Mr Marmo joined AmCham EU in 2016 as Policy Adviser and has been responsible for coordinating the activities of the Financial Services and Tax Committees. In his previous role, he was a consultant at Kreab, advising clients on financial services issues. He also worked for the European Commission Representation in the UK and for a Member of the European Parliament.
Mr Marmo holds a Master of Science in European Public Policy from University College London (UCL). He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Royal Holloway, University of London, also taking part in an exchange at Sciences Po Strasbourg.
Mr Marmo is an Italian national. He is fluent in English and French, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
Nadia joined AmCham EU in February 2019. She is responsible for coordinating sustainability issues and manages the activities of the Transport, Energy and Climate and Agriculture and Food Committees.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Nadia completed a traineeship at Robert Bosch GmbH supporting the Head of Office with following developments of EU transport, energy, environment and digital policy. She has also gained experience at the Red Cross EU focusing on social inclusion and communication.
Nadia holds a Bachelor degree in French Language and Linguistics from Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. She has also completed a Master of Arts in International Relations with Political Strategy and Communication from the University of Kent, Brussels School of International Studies.
Nadia is a Canadian national. She is fluent in English and French and has an intermediate level of German.
Alex Buyruk is a Policy Adviser at the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues. He joined AmCham EU in May 2021 and works on trade, customs, transatlantic and EU-UK issues.
Prior to working at AmCham EU, Alex completed a traineeship at Eurogas as well as at the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs in the European Commission.
Alex holds a BA degree in European Studies from Maastricht University and an MA in International Relations from the Central European University in Budapest.
Alex is a Dutch and Turkish national. He is fluent in English, Dutch, French and Turkish and has a basic command of Russian.
Cathrine joined AmCham EU in September 2021. As a Policy Adviser, she is responsible for managing the activities of the Healthcare and Competition Committees as well as the Sustainable Corporate Governance Taskforce.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Cathrine worked as a Project Assistant at the Central Denmark EU Office. She has also worked as a Trainee at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and as a Policy Assistant at the Standing Committee of European Doctors.
Cathrine holds a bachelor’s degree in the Study of Religion with a minor in European Studies and International Relations from Aarhus University, Denmark. She has a Master’s Degree in European Studies from Lund University, Sweden.
Cathrine is a Danish national. She is fluent in Danish and English, has a good understanding of French and basic knowledge of German and Swedish.
Giacomo joined AmCham EU in July 2021 as Policy Adviser for the Digital Economy, Intellectual Property and Consumer Affairs Committees.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Giacomo worked for PMI’s External Affairs department (Philip Morris International) and completed a traineeship in a Brussels-based trade association active in the digital sphere. He also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of St. Gallen.
Giacomo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from LUISS University in Rome and a Dual Master’s degree in Management and Public Affairs from Sciences Po and the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
Giacomo is an Italian national. He speaks Italian, English and French, with a good command of Spanish and a basic knowledge of German.
Laura joined AmCham EU in September 2021. As a Content Adviser, she works on the creation of AmCham EU’s publications and advocacy strategy, and supports overall content production.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Laura worked as an editor and writer for RAIA Group, a Spanish-based foreign affairs think tank focused on world-wide policy issues. She has also worked at the Spanish Embassy in Peru and has been a researcher at Team Populism, a network of scholars studying the causes and consequences of populism.
Laura holds a dual Bachelor degree in Business Administration and International Relations from IE University in Madrid, Spain. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Catalan and French and has an intermediate level of Japanese.
Konstantina joined AmCham EU in September 2021. As a Policy Intern, she follows trade, transatlantic, economic recovery and Policy Group issues.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Konstantina worked as a journalist at A News Education aiming to comprehensively report on developments in Europe and America. Konstantina also has experience as an intern in marketing.
Konstantina is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Politics with Economics at the University of Bath.
Konstantina is a Greek national. She speaks fluent Greek, English, Russian and has a basic knowledge of French.
Carine Pauly joined AmCham EU in September 1999. She provides technical and administrative support.
She is responsible for CRM development and maintenance, network administration, IT training and support, automation of administrative and general office tasks, and co-operating with external vendors on various projects such as the pc park upgrade and the revamp of the website.
She has a degree in Office Management and a degree in Computer Networks and a Webmaster certificate.
Carine is a Belgian national. She is fluent in English, Dutch and French; conversant in German; and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
As Communications and Outreach Director Maggy oversees the communications and stakeholder outreach of AmCham EU. The team is responsible for : external relations strategy – stakeholders and outreach; designing and implementing strategies to recruit and retain members; sales and sponsorship; events; marketing; internal communications and audience engagement.
Maggy Peeters joined AmCham EU in January 2013 as Events & PR Manager.
Prior to joining AmCham EU Maggy worked for 6 years at an entity of the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium (VBO-FEB) called European Business Forum (EBF), which is the organiser of the European Business Summit and several key European events. During the Belgian EU Presidency EBF was also in charge of the organisation of several EU business summits (EU China, EU India, AEBF – Asia Europe Business Forum) in close collaboration with the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, BUSINESSEUROPE and the European Institutions. She has also been an active member of the board of advisers of AIESEC in Belgium and a board member of AIESEC Alumni in Belgium.
Maggy holds a Masters' degree in Business Management from EHSAL in Brussels. In addition to this she has a post-graduate degree in Project Management from EMS, studied Macro Economics at Cornell University, International Marketing and Business Communication at Harvard University, and followed a protocol course of the United Nations.
Maggy is a Belgian national. She is fluent in Dutch, English and French, and has a basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
Françoise joined AmCham EU as Events and Marketing Coordinator in September 2016.
Before joining AmCham EU, Françoise worked for two and a half years at Friends of Europe, an independent Brussels-based think tank, where she managed high-level events such as the annual State of Europe Roundtable. Previously, she worked for one year in Morocco for an Italian NGO on women's rights.
Françoise holds a Master's degree in Law and Policies of the European integration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the University of Milan, the University of Montpellier I and the University of Stettin. Previously, she studied International Relations at the University of Bologna.
She speaks Italian, English and French and has a basic knowledge of Spanish and Dutch.
Jelena joined AmCham EU in August 2018 as an External Relations Adviser for Executive Council (ExCo), AmChams in Europe network, Presidency of the Council of the European Union and Member State Outreach.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Jelena completed a traineeship in the European Parliament in the European Union Visitors Programme. Jelena also worked as Business Development Assistant in Stantec, an international consultancy focusing on EU projects.
Jelena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages applied to Business and Economics, a Master’s degree in International Commercial Negotiations from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris. She has a second Master’s degree in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
Jelena is a Latvian national. She is also fluent in English, French and Russian, and has a good command of Italian. She also has a (very) basic knowledge of Chinese.
Wendy joined AmCham EU in August 2018 as graphic designer specialist.
Previously she was graphic designer at WinWin Visual Communications, where she designed and implemented solutions to help guide people in different settings.
She studied in Paris and graduated in graphic design with a focus on communication and print media. During her studies she worked as a design and production trainee at Gemalto SA. She was responsible for creating a large range of communications for both internal and external clients as well as being involved in communications for worldwide events.
Wendy has experience in both international and local companies. She is a French national and speaks French and English.
Alex joined AmCham EU in March 2021. He is responsible for effective and strategic communications, working with the policy advisors across a range of issues helping to shape messaging for both members and external audiences.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Alex spent over five years working on communications for Microsoft's EMEA Regional Communications Team in Munich and later with the European Government Affairs team in Brussels.
Alex holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is an American national and is working on improving his basic knowledge of French and Portuguese.
As Associate External Relations Manager, Roberta is responsible for the general coordination of AmCham EU's high level-outreach strategy to the European Institutions and beyond - with a focus on outreach to the European Parliament and European Commission, associations, and thinktanks. She also leads AmCham EU work on Diversity and Inclusion and the Empower Her project with the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Prior to joining AmCham EU in January 2019, Roberta was working as a Political Adviser at the Secretariat General of the ALDE Party. Roberta also worked at Assonime, the Association of Italian Joint Stock Companies, and completed a traineeship in the Secretariat General of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament.
Roberta holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Legal Studies from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, and a Master’s degree in EU Policy and Law with a specialisation in Integration and Form of Governance in the European Union from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Roberta is Italian and speaks fluent English. She has also a good command of French and Dutch.
Miranda Tiona joined AmCham EU in 2021 as Senior Member Relations Adviser. In this role, she leads the resource mobilisation and external relations strategy including the development, retention, educational programming and strategic planning of AmCham EU’s membership initiatives.
Miranda brings work experience from Washington, DC, Paris and Shanghai in a wide range of fields including government affairs, international trade and economic development, equestrian sports management, communications consulting and US public policy. She previously has worked for Bloomberg Government on their Corporate Government Affairs team, where she provided public policy intelligence tools to policymakers and government relations executives to keep them abreast of government action and the industry impact. She also worked for the Department for International Trade at the British Embassy, the International Government Affairs team at ExxonMobil and the US House of Representatives.
Miranda holds a Master’s with Honors in Advanced Global Studies with a concentration on Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po and a Bachelor's of Business Administration in International Business and Political Science from the University of North Florida. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at the US Department of Commerce, Foreign Commercial Service in Shanghai, China on a full scholarship.
Miranda is an American national. She is actively learning French and Mandarin Chinese.
Max joined AmCham EU in November 2014 as Operations Director. Prior to joining AmCham EU, Max worked the preceding two years at the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) as Head of the Business Operations (initially, he was the Financial controller). Max worked as external auditor for PwC Argentina for five years before relocating to Belgium. In Brussels, he continued his professional experience at PwC for five years before becoming Internal audit supervisor at TE Connectivity.
Max is a Chartered accountant from the University of La Matanza (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and also graduated from the Executive Master in Management at Solvay Business School.
Max has both Belgian and Argentinean nationalities. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of French.
She is the Office Manager at AmCham EU Secretariat. She graduated in Modern Languages/Secretarial Management from the Hogeschool HONIM in Brussels. Conny is of Belgian nationality, is married and has 1 son, Bjorn.
She is fluent in English, Dutch, French and German.
Rosaria Sciaccaluga joined AmCham EU in August 1990 as Junior Secretary responsible for sending out mailings to the members. In 1993, Rosaria joined the Communications Department and she was responsible for the distribution and sale of all AmCham EU publications. In 1998 she joined the Policy Team as Secretary and her position changed to Events Coordinator/Administrative Assistant.
Rosa is an Italian national. She is fluent in English and French.
Masha joined AmCham EU in December 2021 as a Digital Transformation Project Manager. Prior to joining AmCham EU, Masha worked for several years for Shell in various leadership roles across marketing, sales and business development covering Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Asia Pacific and European markets. Before relocating to Belgium, Masha also worked in several media companies as a Marketing Director for TV and movie production and distribution.
Masha holds Master’s degree in Economics and Marketing and a professional business coach certification (PCC ICF).
Masha is a Russian national. She is fluent in English, Russian, has a working knowledge of Dutch and is learning French.
