Contingency solutions for road shipments on Day One of a no-deal Brexit

On Wednesday, 25 September AmCham EU hosted a breakfast meeting to present a cross-association statement entitled “No-deal Brexit Transport and Customs Contingency Solution for Day One Road and Air Shipment”.
The aim of the event was to present the paper to customs attachés and engage in a constructive dialogue about possible next steps. The discussion focused on finding a pragmatic solution for the first few days of a no-deal Brexit for road and air shipments. Building upon the derogation already granted to air transportation, the cross-association position paper suggests a time-limited fix allowing goods to enter the EU using EU export forms, instead of the required third country export forms.
