AmCham EU discusses upcoming Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union

On Thursday, 19 November 2015, AmCham EU held its November plenary meeting on the priorities of the upcoming Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Priorities of the Dutch Presidency

Nikolaus Tacke, Public Affairs and Government Relations Director, Europe, The Coca-Cola Company, and Member of the AmCham EU Board, moderated a panel discussion on ‘Intergovernmentalism vs. Federalism: The shifting balance of power between the EU institutions’.The panelists were Richard Corbett, MEP (S&D, UK), Ambassador Jean De Ruyt, Senior European Policy Advisor, Covington & Burling LLP, Marco Incerti, Research Fellow and Head of Communications, CEPS, and Diogo Pinto, Secretary General, Fondation EurActiv.

During the luncheon, Ambassador Wepke Kingma, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the EU, gave the keynote address. Mr. Kingma presented the priorities of the upcoming Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
