Bulgarian start-up BioBliss wins AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award 2025

AmCham EU and Junior Achievement Europe (JA Europe) are delighted to announce that BioBliss is the winner of the AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award 2025. Following the previous four editions, this year was again dedicated to women entrepreneurs. Sophia Nikolova, won over the jury by providing a renewable alternative to lithium and cobalt-based batteries.  

Celebrating our 2025 Gala

On Thursday, 12 June AmCham EU held our Gala 2025 which brought together over 300 guests. After an opening cocktail reception, Malte Lohan, CEO, AmCham EU welcomed guests to the Africa Palace. Afterwards, Roberta Metsola, President, European Parliament gave a keynote address on the future of Europe and the strength of the transatlantic relationshipLiam Benham (Boeing), Chair, AmCham EU then took to the stage, before Norman Thatcher Scharpf, Chargé d’Affaires, U.S. Mission to the European Union underlined the importance of strong EU-US ties. Nikola Meeuwsen, First Prize, 2025 Queen Elisabeth Competition also took to the stage to perform. The celebrations were capped off with a presentation of the AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award to BioBliss. Couldn’t make it? Here’s what you missed.   

Celebrating start-ups with EUROPEN

On Wednesday, 5 June, Thibaut L’Ortye, Senior Director of Public Affairs, AmCham EU, joined the jury of EUROPEN’s Single Market Start-up Award, organised in collaboration with Junior Achievement Europe. The award was presented during EUROPEN’s Annual Reception, which brought together policymakers, industry and youth. The winner, BioNova from Georgia, is a clean tech start-up focused on sustainable solutions.  Second place went to ReachMate, a healthcare start-up from the Netherlands.
