Letter from the Chairman

Dear Members,

Better late than never: I wish you a Happy New Year and hope you had a good start to 2019!

This year we are implementing our new Agenda for Action 2019-2024, which outlines four priority areas we believe should drive the political agenda over the next five years: empowering people, boosting the Single Market, leading global cooperation and investing in the future. The Agenda for Action serves as an overarching strategic plan for AmCham EU’s work programme and provides ideas to EU policy-makers for the new legislative term.

In parallel, we will implement our flagship initiatives. With the European Parliament elections coming at a critical time mid-2019, our flagship on the future of Europe will aim at building a stronger EU with an even more efficient Single Market. Reinforcing a strong EU-US relationship and ensuring the UK’s potential exit from the EU will continue to serve as our two other flagships.

2019 promises to be a year of change in the EU, with officials taking up new posts, and new relationships to be built. At AmCham EU, we will continue to develop fact-based content and ensure that the voice of US business is heard by policy stakeholders at all levels to support a sustainable business and investment climate in Europe.
