High expectations that Juncker’s team will put Europe back on track

Following the announcement of the nominees for Jean-Claude Juncker’s first College of Commissioners, the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) welcomes the focus and ambition reflected in the nomination of his new team.

AmCham EU believes Mr Juncker’s emphasis on jobs and growth is absolutely what is needed to put Europe firmly on the path of recovery and sustainable growth.

The willingness to pursue better regulation and reforms to the EU is encouraging. We look forward to the new team working collaboratively and exerting the necessary leadership to strengthen the competitiveness of the European economy.

Mr Juncker has nominated a strong and balanced team with deep political experience. An emphasis on better regulation and sustainable job gowth will lay the foundations for stable economic recovery in Europe and ensure a strong Single Market that is open and competitive on the global market.
