The financial services industry is committed to ensuring the digital operational resilience of the EU financial sector in line with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). It is within this context that the undersigned associations would like to draw attention to the challenges that industry participants, representing financial entities as well as ICT third-party service providers, are facing regarding the implementation of DORA by the 17 January 2025 deadline and highlight the need for coordinated supervisory action to be taken in response. Industry needs further clarity from the supervisory authorities on their approach to any possible DORA enforcement actions. This could include an outline of potential supervisory priorities or areas of focus for the first year of DORA application, which would provide helpful guidance for industry participants on how to prioritise their efforts.

Revitalising EU securitisation
Mobilising private capital for long-term, productive investments is critical to advancing the EU’s green and digital transitions and realising the objectives of a Savings and Investments Union (SIU). However, the EU securitisation market has seen a significant decline since the global financial cri-sis and has since continued to lag behind comparable markets. Previous efforts to revive the EU secu-ritisation market, such as the introduction of the EU Securitisation Regulation and the Simple, Trans-parent and Standardised (STS) label for traditional securitisations have not meaningfully improved the situation.
Whilst not the panacea to all of Europe’s funding challenges, learn why revitalising securitisation in Europe will help unlock private finance and thereby create better conditions for the financing of the EU economy.
