How cooperation and diversification can secure a resilient EU trade strategy

On Wednesday, 18 June, Thibaut L’Ortye, Senior Director of Public Affairs, AmCham EU, joined the EESC Employers' Group for a debate on the future of EU trade. The discussion explored key challenges facing businesses, including supply-chain disruptions and tariff tensions. From the discussion, it was clear that diversification is essential to strengthen economic resilience. At the same time, EU-US cooperation remains critical to provide stability, predictability and open markets, particularly in the face of geopolitical uncertainty. The debate reaffirmed the need for a pragmatic, forward-looking EU trade agenda that supports competitiveness and global engagement.
