Susan Danger is CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues. She has full strategic and operational responsibility for the association and represents it externally. AmCham EU is a membership organisation supporting over 150 US corporate companies, international business, and law and consultancy firms in the area of public affairs.
Susan has dedicated her entire career to advancing transatlantic cooperation. She joined AmCham EU in 1995 as Communications Manager, becoming Communications & Operations Manager in 2000. Since 2002 she has been leading the organisation as Managing Director and since 2016 as CEO. In 2003 she oversaw the re-branding of AmCham EU and its separation from AmCham Belgium.
In 2017 AmCham EU was awarded for the fourth time the Trade Association/Professional Body of the Year Award, having previously won the award in 2009, 2012 and 2014.
Susan was named by POLITICO as one of the top 20 women influencers in Brussels in 2016 and 2020.
Susan was elected as Chair of AmChams in Europe (ACE) for the period 2020-2022. AmChams in Europe (ACE) serves as the umbrella organisation for 45 American Chambers of Commerce (AmChams) in 43 countries throughout Europe and Eurasia. She has also served as Vice-Chair (2009 -2014) and was a Member of its Executive Committee (2005-2008).
A graduate of the University of Bath, UK, with a BA in European Studies, French and German, Susan’s career developed in London in marketing and communications within the tour operation industry, where prior to coming to Brussels she worked for Thomson Tour Operations.
A dual UK and Belgian citizen fluent in English, German and French and conversant in Dutch and Spanish, Susan Danger lives in Brussels with her husband and has three children.
Lucia joined AmCham EU in March 2019 as an executive assistant and advisor to CEO. She supports and advises the head of the organisation focusing on advocacy, public relations, operations and particularly on the outward-facing role of the CEO in representing AmCham EU and its members.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Lucia worked at the Institute for European Environmental Policy, a sustainability think tank in Brussels, as part of the Executive team, supporting the work of the Executive Director, Board and the management group.
Lucia holds a MA in European Studies and transnational perspectives from KU Leuven in Belgium and BA in Area Studies from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. During her studies in Leuven, Lucia participated in the Immersion Program at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.
Lucia is a Slovak national and speaks fluent English. She has a working knowledge of French and is currently learning Dutch.
Roger Coelho is Senior Policy Director at the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues.
Mr Coelho joined AmCham EU in 2008 as Communications Officer, becoming Policy Officer in 2010. In 2012 he became Policy Manager and in June 2016 he became Acting Policy Director, with responsibility for the Advocacy and Content teams. He oversees advocacy planning and strategy as well as the creation of reports and studies. He also oversees relations with the press.
Mr Coelho holds a BA Honours degree in European Studies and Political Science from Trinity College at the University of Toronto and a MA in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, he worked at the Information and Communication Unit in DG Enlargement at the European Commission, Houston Consulting Europe (now Kreab) and at Pinnacle Public Relations in Brussels.
As Associate Director of Public Affairs, Thibaut advises on advocacy strategy related to a range of sectoral and horizontal policy issues. He leads AmCham EU’s outreach to the press and crafts the external messaging of the Chamber. He also coordinates AmCham EU’s content team and oversees the production of policy materials, research and publications.
Prior to this, Thibaut served as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director from 2014 until 2016. He supported and advised the Managing Director and worked closely with AmCham EU’s Board of Directors and senior management.
Thibaut holds a Master’s degree in European Politics from the Institut d’études européennes (IEE-ULB) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He also studied at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and McGill University in Canada.
Thibaut is a Belgian national. He is fluent in English and French, and has a good command of Dutch.
Stefano is Policy Manager, overseeing the association’s economic policy and horizontal strategy.
Stefano joined AmCham EU in 2016 as a Policy Adviser for the Financial Services and Tax Committees. Prior to this, Stefano worked as a consultant for Kreab, advising clients on financial services issues. He also worked for a Member of the European Parliament and at the European Commission Representation in the UK.
Stefano holds a Master of Science in European Public Policy from University College London (UCL). He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Royal Holloway, University of London, also taking part in an exchange at Sciences Po Strasbourg.
Stefano is an Italian national. He is fluent in English and French, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
Nick joined AmCham EU in November 2019. As content adviser, Nick is working on advocacy strategy and messaging in close coordination with the policy advisers as part of the advocacy team. He also works on the production of AmCham EU’s policy materials and publications.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Nick worked in the communications unit of DG CONNECT at the European Commission, where he served as web editor, and later as press officer. He also has experience in public affairs consulting.
Nick holds a double Master’s degree in European Studies from the University of Bath and Paris Sciences Po. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Modern Language Studies at the University of Nottingham.
Nick is a British national. He speaks fluent French and conversational German.
Francesca joined AmCham as Policy Adviser in September 2019. She is responsible for Healthcare, Competition Policy and Sustainable Finance.
Before joining AmCham, Francesca gained experience in the healthcare sector in the Brussels office of Novartis and at EuropaBio the European Association for Bioindustries. She built her practical understanding of the work of the European institutions during her traineeship at the S&D group in the European Parliament, where she worked with Political Advisors of the Constitutional Affairs Committee on issues such as Brexit, transparency and fundamental rights.
Francesca completed her Master of Laws degree at the University of Warsaw and the University of Maastricht. She also holds a MA in European Political and Governance Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
Francesca is a Polish and Italian national and speaks fluent Polish and English and has a good command of French and Spanish. She is also working on her Italian.
Nadia joined AmCham EU as a Policy Adviser in February 2019. She is responsible for managing the activities of the Transport, Energy and Climate, Consumer Affairs and Agriculture and Food Committees.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Nadia completed a traineeship at Robert Bosch GmbH supporting the Head of Office with following developments of EU transport, energy, environment and digital policy. She has also gained experience at the Red Cross EU focusing on social inclusion and communication.
Nadia holds a Bachelor degree in French Language and Linguistics from Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. She has also completed a Master of Arts in International Relations with Political Strategy and Communication from the University of Kent, Brussels School of International Studies.
Nadia is a Canadian national. She is fluent in English and French and has an intermediate level of German.
Emilie joined AmCham EU in 2018. She covers horizontal policy areas, notably Brexit, Customs and Trade Facilitation, Future of Work and Gender Equality.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Emilie gained hands-on experience as a trainee in the European Parliament’s Co-decision Unit and as a National Campaign Assistant at the Dutch Labour Party. As a student, she also worked in Florence as campaign organiser and as Data Analysis Intern at a London-based NGO.
Emilie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics from the University of Florence, a MSc in Democracy and Comparative Politics at University College London and a MA in EU Politics at the College of Europe in Bruges.
Emilie is an Italian and Dutch National and speaks fluent Italian, English, French and Dutch.
As Policy Adviser, Edward is responsible for leading AmCham EU’s advocacy for the Digital Economy and Intellectual Property Committees.
Edward first joined AmCham EU in 2018 as Content Adviser, supporting policy content and advocacy across a range of sectoral and horizontal policy areas. He worked across committees on their policy priorities and helped produce advocacy materials such as position papers, reports and publications.
Before joining AmCham EU, Edward was a Senior Project Manager at Eagle Investment Systems, where he advanced and executed cross-departmental projects and strategic corporate initiatives that delivered leading technology solutions and digital services for Eagle clients. He also supported Eagle’s global internal corporate communications.
Edward holds a Master’s degree in International Conflict and Security with Foreign Policy from the University of Kent, Brussels School of International Studies (BSIS). He also holds a Bachelor’s with honors dual degree in Political Science and International Affairs from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Edward is a dual American and British national. He is currently learning French.
Chloé joined AmCham EU in July 2019 as a Policy Adviser. She is responsible for the Trade and External Affairs and Customs and Trade Facilitation Committees, as well as the Transatlantic Task Force.
Before joining AmCham, Chloé completed a traineeship on trade issues and the EU-US partnership with the EPP Group in the European Parliament. She gained experience on international trade law and the WTO Dispute Settlement Body as a Trade Analyst with Sidley Austin LLP in Geneva, Switzerland. Additionally, she gained knowledge on intellectual property issues during her time with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a specialised UN agency.
Chloé holds a Master of Literature in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Saint Andrews, UK. She received a Bachelor’s dual degree in Political Science and English Studies from the Université Lumière Lyon 2, France.
Chloé is a French national. She is fluent in English and French, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
As Communications and Outreach Director Maggy oversees the communications and stakeholder outreach of AmCham EU. The team is responsible for : external relations strategy – stakeholders and outreach; designing and implementing strategies to recruit and retain members; sales and sponsorship; events; marketing; internal communications and audience engagement.
Maggy Peeters joined AmCham EU in January 2013 as Events & PR Manager.
Prior to joining AmCham EU Maggy worked for 6 years at an entity of the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium (VBO-FEB) called European Business Forum (EBF), which is the organiser of the European Business Summit and several key European events. During the Belgian EU Presidency EBF was also in charge of the organisation of several EU business summits (EU China, EU India, AEBF – Asia Europe Business Forum) in close collaboration with the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, BUSINESSEUROPE and the European Institutions. She has also been an active member of the board of advisers of AIESEC in Belgium and a board member of AIESEC Alumni in Belgium.
Maggy holds a Masters' degree in Business Management from EHSAL in Brussels. In addition to this she has a post-graduate degree in Project Management from EMS, studied Macro Economics at Cornell University, International Marketing and Business Communication at Harvard University, and followed a protocol course of the United Nations.
Maggy is a Belgian national. She is fluent in Dutch, English and French, and has a basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
Carine Pauly joined AmCham EU in September 1999. She provides technical and administrative support.
She is responsible for CRM development and maintenance, network administration, IT training and support, automation of administrative and general office tasks, and co-operating with external vendors on various projects such as the pc park upgrade and the revamp of the website.
She has a degree in Office Management and a degree in Computer Networks and a Webmaster certificate.
Carine is a Belgian national. She is fluent in English, Dutch and French; conversant in German; and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
Françoise joined AmCham EU as Events and Marketing Coordinator in September 2016.
Before joining AmCham EU, Françoise worked for two and a half years at Friends of Europe, an independent Brussels-based think tank, where she managed high-level events such as the annual State of Europe Roundtable. Previously, she worked for one year in Morocco for an Italian NGO on women's rights.
Françoise holds a Master's degree in Law and Policies of the European integration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the University of Milan, the University of Montpellier I and the University of Stettin. Previously, she studied International Relations at the University of Bologna.
She speaks Italian, English and French and has a basic knowledge of Spanish and Dutch.
Stephanie joined AmCham EU as Member Relations Adviser in April 2018. She is responsible for maintaining and developing membership within AmCham EU.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Stephanie worked at the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), focusing on financial services advocacy in Brussels and Europe. There she was responsible for helping manage membership, events, and supporting the Managing Director in AFME’s advocacy efforts.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a second in International Studies from the University of Florida and a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Stephanie is a dual US and Brazilian national. She is fluent in English, Portuguese, French and conversant in Spanish. She is currently learning Modern Standard Arabic.
Mia joined AmCham EU in September 2019 as Events and Marketing Coordinator.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Mia completed a traineeship at the Council of the European Union in the Staff Development Unit. She also did an internship as a press officer at Radio Télévision Belge Francophone (RTBF).
Mia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting from the Institut libre Marie Haps in Brussels and a Master’s degree in Multilingual Communication with a major in Human Resources from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She also studied at the Lomonosov Moscow State University in Moscow.
Mia has both Belgian and Serbian nationalities. She is fluent in French, English, Serbian and Russian, and has a basic knowledge of Dutch and German.
Diana joined AmCham EU in October 2019 as a Senior Communications Specialist. She is responsible for the internal and external communications strategy, advising on content and messaging while also managing the organisation's channels and social media content. Diana works closely with the policy advisers to ensure consistent messaging across all communications materials.
Prior to joining, Diana worked at Ogilvy Social.Lab as an Account Manager on the International and Corporate Affairs Team. In her role, she led and managed relationships for high profile clients and advised on overall strategic communication objectives, messaging, channels, media relations and content. Between 2015-2017, Diana was a Consultant at Weber Shandwick in the Public Affairs Energy, Climate and Environment Practice where she focused on a variety of issues including energy security, climate change and government affairs.
Diana has double citizenship as a Romanian-Canadian and holds a Master’s in European, Russian and Eurasian Studies from Carleton University. In addition to native English and Romanian, Diana also has a strong command of Spanish and a working knowledge of French.
Wendy joined AmCham EU in August 2018 as graphic designer specialist.
Previously she was graphic designer at WinWin Visual Communications, where she designed and implemented solutions to help guide people in different settings.
She studied in Paris and graduated in graphic design with a focus on communication and print media. During her studies she worked as a design and production trainee at Gemalto SA. She was responsible for creating a large range of communications for both internal and external clients as well as being involved in communications for worldwide events.
Wendy has experience in both international and local companies. She is a French national and speaks French and English.
Jelena joined AmCham EU in August 2018 as an External Relations Adviser for Executive Council (ExCo), AmChams in Europe network, Presidency of the Council of the European Union and Member State Outreach.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Jelena completed a traineeship in the European Parliament in the European Union Visitors Programme. Jelena also worked as Business Development Assistant in Stantec, an international consultancy focusing on EU projects.
Jelena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages applied to Business and Economics, a Master’s degree in International Commercial Negotiations from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris. She has a second Master’s degree in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
Jelena is a Latvian national. She is also fluent in English, French and Russian, and has a good command of Italian. She also has a (very) basic knowledge of Chinese.
As External Relations Adviser, Roberta is responsible for the liaison with the EU Parliament and EU Commission, high-level outreach, AmCham EU plenary meetings, amongst other projects such as outreach to associations and student briefings.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Roberta was working as a Political Assistant at the Secretary General of the ALDE Party. Roberta also worked as a EU Policy and Law intern at Assonime, the Association of Italian Joint Stock Companies, and completed a traineeship in the Secretary General of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament.
Roberta holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Legal Studies from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, and a Master’s degree in EU Policy with a specialisation in Integration and Form of Governance in the European Union from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Roberta is Italian and speaks fluent English. She has also a good command of French and a knowledge of Spanish. She is currently learning Dutch.
Max joined AmCham EU in November 2014 as Operations Director. Prior to joining AmCham EU, Max worked the preceding two years at the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) as Head of the Business Operations (initially, he was the Financial controller). Max worked as external auditor for PwC Argentina for five years before relocating to Belgium. In Brussels, he continued his professional experience at PwC for five years before becoming Internal audit supervisor at TE Connectivity.
Max is a Chartered accountant from the University of La Matanza (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and also graduated from the Executive Master in Management at Solvay Business School.
Max has both Belgian and Argentinean nationalities. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of French.
She is the Office Manager at AmCham EU Secretariat. She graduated in Modern Languages/Secretarial Management from the Hogeschool HONIM in Brussels. Conny is of Belgian nationality, is married and has 1 son, Bjorn.
She is fluent in English, Dutch, French and German.
Rosaria Sciaccaluga joined AmCham EU in August 1990 as Junior Secretary responsible for sending out mailings to the members. In 1993, Rosaria joined the Communications Department and she was responsible for the distribution and sale of all AmCham EU publications. In 1998 she joined the Policy Team as Secretary and her position changed to Events Coordinator/Administrative Assistant.
Rosa is an Italian national. She is fluent in English and French.
Stéphanie Vinckier joined AmCham EU in June 2003. As Operations Coordinator, Stéphanie works closely with the Communications & Policy teams assisting them with various tasks. She is responsible for the logistics of internal events, the membership administration and she is also leading the AmCham EU Green Strategy.
Stéphanie studied in Brussels and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism. She lived in the US and in Denmark before settling back to her home country. She also obtained a diploma to teach French as a Foreign Language while living in Denmark where she taught in various International Schools in Copenhagen.
Stéphanie is a Belgian national. She is fluent in English and French and has an intermediate knowledge of Dutch. She is currently learning Italian.
