Susan Danger is CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues. She has full strategic and operational responsibility for the association and represents it externally. AmCham EU is a membership organisation supporting over 150 US corporate companies, international business, and law and consultancy firms in the area of public affairs.
Susan has dedicated her entire career to advancing transatlantic cooperation. She joined AmCham EU in 1995 as Communications Manager, becoming Communications & Operations Manager in 2000. Since 2002 she has been leading the organisation as Managing Director and since 2016 as CEO. In 2003 she oversaw the re-branding of AmCham EU and its separation from AmCham Belgium.
AmCham EU has been voted Best EU Trade Association of the year in 2021 by BestinBrussels.eu. In 2017 AmCham EU was awarded for the fourth time the Trade Association/Professional Body of the Year Award, having previously won the award in 2009, 2012 and 2014.
Susan was named by POLITICO as one of the top 20 women influencers in Brussels in 2016 and 2020.
Susan was elected as Chair of AmChams in Europe (ACE) for the period 2020-2023. AmChams in Europe (ACE) serves as the umbrella organisation for 45 American Chambers of Commerce (AmChams) in 43 countries throughout Europe and Eurasia. She has also served as Vice-Chair (2009 -2014) and was a Member of its Executive Committee (2005-2008).
Susan was appointed member of the Governing Board of the European Policy Center in March 2021.
A graduate of the University of Bath, UK, with a BA in European Studies, French and German, Susan’s career developed in London in marketing and communications within the tour operation industry, where prior to coming to Brussels she worked for Thomson Tour Operations.
A dual UK and Belgian citizen fluent in English, German and French and conversant in Dutch and Spanish, Susan Danger lives in Brussels with her husband and has three children.
Nicoletta joined AmCham EU in January 2023. As Executive Assistant to the CEO, she supports the head of the organisation on the overall representation of AmCham EU and its members, as well as working closely with the Board of Directors.
Prior to this role, Nicoletta worked as Secretary-General for a civil society NGO in Brussels focused on strengthening democracy and youth involvement in European politics.
Nicoletta holds a Master's degree in Global Affairs with a specialization in Global Policy in Europe from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s degree in Global and International Studies with a specialization in Globalization, Culture and Power and a Minor in Italian from Carleton University in Ottawa. She also studied Political Science at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome as part of a year long exchange.
Nicoletta is an Italian national and holds Canadian citizenship. She speaks Italian and English.
Max joined AmCham EU in September 2022. As a management Intern, his responsibilities primarily involve providing support to the CEO. He also works with the board, management and engages with work concerning member relations.
Max will be continuing his Bachelor's degree in Politics and International Relations (BSc) at the University of Bath, UK, after his internship at AmCham EU.
Max is an English and French national. He also has a proficient ability in Spanish.
Roger Coelho is Senior Policy Director at the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues.
Mr Coelho joined AmCham EU in 2008 as Communications Officer, becoming Policy Officer in 2010. In 2012 he became Policy Manager and in June 2016 he became Acting Policy Director, with responsibility for the Advocacy and Content teams. He oversees advocacy planning and strategy as well as the creation of reports and studies. He also oversees relations with the press.
Mr Coelho holds a BA Honours degree in European Studies and Political Science from Trinity College at the University of Toronto and a MA in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, he worked at the Information and Communication Unit in DG Enlargement at the European Commission, Houston Consulting Europe (now Kreab) and at Pinnacle Public Relations in Brussels.
At the intersection of policy and communications, Thibaut leads advocacy campaigns and provides strategic advice on a range of policy issues impacting industries across sectors. He coordinates AmCham EU’s external communications, research and publications. He crafts the external messaging of the Chamber and oversees its outreach to European and international media.
Over the years, he has also supported the organisation in other areas, including internal communications, stakeholder engagement and outreach strategy, events, marketing, branding, reputation management as well as sales and sponsorship. Prior to this, Thibaut worked closely with AmCham EU’s Chief Executive Officer, coordinating outreach to the highest levels of business and government in Europe and the US, drafting speaking points and speeches, preparing policy briefings and supporting the work of its Board of Directors. He joined AmCham EU in 2014.
Outside of his responsibilities at AmCham EU, Thibaut sits on the Executive Committee of one of Belgium’s largest non-profit organisations committed to youth empowerment.
Thibaut holds a Master’s degree in European Politics from the Institut d’études européennes (IEE-ULB) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He also studied at McGill University and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
Thibaut is a Belgian national. He is fluent in English and French, and has a good command of Dutch.
Micol joined AmCham EU in January 2023. As Senior Policy Adviser, she is responsible for the Trade and Customs and Trade Facilitation Committees and the Transatlantic and EU-UK Task Forces.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Micol worked as Public Affairs Consultant in Brussels, focusing on trade policy, customs policy, due diligence, geopolitics and sustainability. Previously, she worked as Research Assistant to the President emeritus, Pascal Lamy at the Jacques Delors Institute in Paris, focusing on EU trade policy and in the Asia Department at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) in Rome.
Micol holds a Master’s degree in International Economic Policy from Sciences Po, Paris with a specialization in international trade and China and East Asia studies, as well as an undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of Turin.
Micol is an Italian national and is fluent in Italian, French and English and is learning German and Chinese.
Nataša joined AmCham EU in December 2022. As Senior Policy Advisor, she is responsible for the Digital Economy and Intellectual Property Committees.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Nataša worked with a major European data centre association on various regulatory issues impacting the sector. She also completed a Schuman traineeship at the European Parliament as well as the traineeship at the Bosnian Embassy in Budapest.
Nataša holds a Master’s degree in EU Public Affairs and Policies from the College of Europe, Warsaw and a Master’s degree in European Studies and International Relations from Maastricht University.
Nataša is a Bosnian national and is fluent in Serbian, Croatian and English and has a good working knowledge of French and Czech.
Lucía joined AmCham EU in September 2022. As a Policy and Project Assistant, her work is mainly focused on the Digital Economy and Intellectual Property committees. She also provides help and support for other ongoing projects.
Lucía was already an intern at AmCham EU in 2019, when her responsibilities primarily involved supporting the Digital Economy (DEC), Financial Services (FIN) and Healthcare (HCC) committees.
Lucía holds a Joint Master's degree in Global Economic Governance and Public Affairs from the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, Italy, and the Centre International de Formation Européenne in France. She also has a Level 7 EQF Certification as a Policy Officer in European and International Organisations. Additionally, she has an undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bath, in the UK.
Lucía is a Spanish national. She is fluent in English, Italian and Basque and has a good working level of French.
Edouard joined AmCham EU in April 2023. As a Policy Adviser, he is responsible for the Agriculture & Food Committee.
Prior to this role, Edouard worked as a Policy Officer at the European Biogas Association, focusing on files related to agriculture and the environment. Edouard also completed a traineeship in the office of Dacian Ciolos, MEP (RE, RO) and an internship at Copa and Cogeca.
Edouard holds a Master's degree in European studies from KU Leuven University, with a specialization in Global Governance and International Cooperation, as well as a Political Sciences Bachelor's degree from University Saint-Louis.
Edouard is a Belgian national and is fluent in French and English, comfortable in Dutch and is learning German.
Anastasia joined AmCham EU in April 2023. As Policy Adviser, she is responsible for the Transport, Energy and Climate Committee.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Anastasia worked at the European Commission in the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations as a Policy Assistant. Her work focused on EU sustainable policies’ impact on third countries, with a focus on the Southern neighborhood, Eastern Partnership countries and the Western Balkans.
Anastasia holds a Master's degree in International Relations, European Union Studies from Leiden University, with a specialization in sustainability and energy issues, as well as a Law and Political Science Bachelor from Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne.
Anastasia is a French national that is fluent in English and French (native language) and is learning Spanish.
Elena joined AmCham EU in May 2023. As Policy Adviser, she is responsible for the Environment Committee.
Prior to this role, Elena worked as a Junior Adviser at Orgalim, focusing on environmental and energy topics. She also completed a traineeship in European Affairs and Communication at Eni.
Elena holds a Master's degree in Political Economy of Europe from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Bologna, Italy.
Elena is Italian and speaks English fluently. She also has a good command of Spanish and is learning French.
Norbert joined AmCham EU in February 2023. As Policy Adviser, he is responsible for the Healthcare and Consumer Affairs Committees.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Norbert worked at a government relations consultancy based in Dublin on a range of sectors and topics including life sciences, consumer goods, international taxation and EU-UK relations. Before this, he completed a traineeship with the European External Action Service at the EU Delegation to Armenia.
Norbert holds a Master’s in International Politics from Leiden University and an undergraduate degree in History and Politics from the University of Oxford.
A native speaker of English and Polish, he also has advanced German and intermediate French, as well as basic Russian.
Elyse joined AmCham EU in April 2022. As a Senior Content Advisor, she produces policy documents, research and publications, among other materials, and supports the communication of the Chamber’s messaging.
Elyse brings to AmCham EU a diverse range of professional experiences, including in marketing and communications, political campaigns, education policy, healthcare and storytelling.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Elyse is an American national. She is learning French and improving her basic knowledge of Spanish.
Laura joined AmCham EU in September 2021. As a Content Adviser, she works on the creation of AmCham EU’s publications and advocacy strategy, and supports overall content production.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Laura worked as an editor and writer for RAIA Group, a Spanish-based foreign affairs think tank focused on world-wide policy issues. She has also worked at the Spanish Embassy in Peru and has been a researcher at Team Populism, a network of scholars studying the causes and consequences of populism.
Laura holds a dual Bachelor degree in Business Administration and International Relations from IE University in Madrid, Spain. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Catalan and French and has an intermediate level of Japanese.
Sam joined AmCham EU in June 2022 as Communications Assistant, before starting as an Associate Policy Adviser in January 2023. In his current role, Sam works across multiple sustainability-related committees to advance the Green Deal goals of AmCham EU member companies.
Sam holds a Master's degree in European Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Bologna, Italy, as well as an undergraduate degree in International Studies and Political Science from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
He is an American national, working on his French, with a good command of Spanish and Italian.
Andrew joined AmCham EU in April 2023. As a Policy Assistant, he is responsible for the Competition and Tax Committees.
Prior to this role, Andrew worked in an Italian utility's State aid team and a US-based think tank. Andrew also spent several years working in as a political and legislative staffer in US state and local politics.
Andrew holds a Master's degree in European Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Italy and a Bachelor's degree from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland.
Andrew is an American national who speaks English, Turkish and basic Italian.
Thalia joined AmCham EU in September 2022 as a Policy Intern. Her responsibilities primarily involve supporting the Transport, Energy and Climate (TEC) and Environment (ENV) committees, as well as assisting AmCham EU’s overarching Policy Group.
Following her internship in Brussels, Thalia will complete the final year of her Bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations at the University of Bath.
Thalia is a French and British national, and has a good command of German.
As Communications and Outreach Director Maggy oversees the communications and stakeholder outreach of AmCham EU. The team is responsible for : external relations strategy – stakeholders and outreach; designing and implementing strategies to recruit and retain members; sales and sponsorship; events; marketing; internal communications and audience engagement.
Maggy Peeters joined AmCham EU in January 2013 as Events & PR Manager.
Prior to joining AmCham EU Maggy worked for 6 years at an entity of the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium (VBO-FEB) called European Business Forum (EBF), which is the organiser of the European Business Summit and several key European events. During the Belgian EU Presidency EBF was also in charge of the organisation of several EU business summits (EU China, EU India, AEBF – Asia Europe Business Forum) in close collaboration with the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, BUSINESSEUROPE and the European Institutions. She has also been an active member of the board of advisers of AIESEC in Belgium and a board member of AIESEC Alumni in Belgium.
Maggy holds a Masters' degree in Business Management from EHSAL in Brussels. In addition to this she has a post-graduate degree in Project Management from EMS, studied Macro Economics at Cornell University, International Marketing and Business Communication at Harvard University, and followed a protocol course of the United Nations.
Maggy is a Belgian national. She is fluent in Dutch, English and French, and has a basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
Françoise joined AmCham EU as Events and Marketing Coordinator in September 2016.
Before joining AmCham EU, Françoise worked for two and a half years at Friends of Europe, an independent Brussels-based think tank, where she managed high-level events such as the annual State of Europe Roundtable. Previously, she worked for one year in Morocco for an Italian NGO on women's rights.
Françoise holds a Master's degree in Law and Policies of the European integration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the University of Milan, the University of Montpellier I and the University of Stettin. Previously, she studied International Relations at the University of Bologna.
She speaks Italian, English and French and has a basic knowledge of Spanish and Dutch.
As Events Manager, Kim is responsible for the strategy, planning and organization of the events (hybrid/ online/ in person). She manages the overall day-to-day events activity and its budget.
Prior to joining AmCham EU in September 2022, Kim worked for over 10 years at prestigious members venues and luxurious/boutique hotels in London and in Belgium. She led high-level projects but also managed private, corporate, charity, members and public events.
Kim holds a degree in Communication and Events Management and has leadership and five star-service certificates.
She was born in Belgium and is originally from Vietnam. She is fluent in English and French. She understands Vietnamese and has a basic knowledge of Dutch and Spanish.
As Associate External Relations Manager, Roberta is responsible for the general coordination of AmCham EU's high level-outreach strategy to the European Institutions and beyond - with a focus on outreach to the European Parliament and European Commission, associations, and thinktanks. She also leads AmCham EU work on Diversity and Inclusion and the Empower Her project with the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Prior to joining AmCham EU in January 2019, Roberta was working as a Political Adviser at the Secretariat General of the ALDE Party. Roberta also worked at Assonime, the Association of Italian Joint Stock Companies, and completed a traineeship in the Secretariat General of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament.
Roberta holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Legal Studies from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, and a Master’s degree in EU Policy and Law with a specialisation in Integration and Form of Governance in the European Union from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Roberta is Italian and speaks fluent English. She has also a good command of French and Dutch.
Carine Pauly joined AmCham EU in September 1999. She provides technical and administrative support.
She is responsible for CRM development and maintenance, network administration, IT training and support, automation of administrative and general office tasks, and co-operating with external vendors on various projects such as the pc park upgrade and the revamp of the website.
She has a degree in Office Management and a degree in Computer Networks and a Webmaster certificate.
Carine is a Belgian national. She is fluent in English, Dutch and French; conversant in German; and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
Wendy joined AmCham EU in August 2018 as graphic designer specialist.
Previously she was graphic designer at WinWin Visual Communications, where she designed and implemented solutions to help guide people in different settings.
She studied in Paris and graduated in graphic design with a focus on communication and print media. During her studies she worked as a design and production trainee at Gemalto SA. She was responsible for creating a large range of communications for both internal and external clients as well as being involved in communications for worldwide events.
Wendy has experience in both international and local companies. She is a French national and speaks French and English.
Alex joined AmCham EU in March 2021. He is responsible for effective and strategic communications, working with the policy advisors across a range of issues helping to shape messaging for both members and external audiences.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Alex spent over five years working on communications for Microsoft's EMEA Regional Communications Team in Munich and later with the European Government Affairs team in Brussels.
Alex holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is an American national and is working on improving his basic knowledge of French and Portuguese.
Miranda Tiona joined AmCham EU in 2021 as Senior Member Relations Adviser. In this role, she leads the resource mobilisation and external relations strategy including the development, retention, educational programming and strategic planning of AmCham EU’s membership initiatives.
Miranda brings work experience from Washington, DC, Paris and Shanghai in a wide range of fields including government affairs, international trade and economic development, equestrian sports management, communications consulting and US public policy. She previously has worked for Bloomberg Government on their Corporate Government Affairs team, where she provided public policy intelligence tools to policymakers and government relations executives to keep them abreast of government action and the industry impact. She also worked for the Department for International Trade at the British Embassy, the International Government Affairs team at ExxonMobil and the US House of Representatives.
Miranda holds a Master’s with Honors in Advanced Global Studies with a concentration on Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po and a Bachelor's of Business Administration in International Business and Political Science from the University of North Florida. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at the US Department of Commerce, Foreign Commercial Service in Shanghai, China on a full scholarship.
Miranda is an American national. She is actively learning French and Mandarin Chinese.
Soline joined AmCham EU in January 2023. As External Relations Adviser, Soline is responsible for the general coordination of AmCham EU’s high-level outreach strategy to the European institutions and think tanks. Soline also manages the work of the European Parliament Outreach Task Force.
Prior to this role, Soline worked as an Economic Policy and Communications Intern in the office of Damian Boeselager, MEP (Greens/EFA, DE). Soline also completed a Blue Book traineeship at the European Commission and worked as a Public Affairs and Communications consultant in Paris.
Soline holds a Double Master’s degree in European Affairs from Sciences Po, Paris and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), as well as an undergraduate degree in Political Science and French literature from the University of Poitiers in France.
Soline is a French and British national. She is fluent in French, English and Spanish and is also learning Portuguese.
Sarah joined AmCham EU as Events and Marketing Coordinator in February 2022.
Prior to joining AmCham EU, Sarah worked for four and a half years at EBA CLEARING, a provider of pan-European payment infrastructure solutions.
She holds an Executive Master’s degree in event management from the Institut des hautes études des communications sociales – Academy (IHECS Academy) and a Bachelor's degree in interpretation and translation in French, Arabic and English from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
Sarah is Belgian national. She is fluent in French, English and Arabic with a basic knowledge of Dutch.
Ina joined AmCham EU in March 2023 as an Events Coordinator, responsible for ensuring proper organisation, planning and execution of all aspects related to events.
She previously worked as a Policy and Regulations Specialist and Project Manager at the National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association of Moldova.
Ina holds a Master’s degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Business Management and a Bachelor’s degree in International Hotel Business Management, both from Manchester Metropolitan University.
She is a Moldovan and Romanian national and fluent in both Russian and English, with basic knowledge of French and Italian.
Chris joined AmCham EU in February 2023. As Communications Assistant, he works across a wide range of policy areas to craft clear and effective communications campaigns for both internal and external audiences.
Chris holds a Master's degree in International Relations and an undergraduate degree in History and Philosophy from University College Cork (UCC) in Cork, Ireland.
He is an Irish and Dutch national, working on his French, with a good command of German.
Max joined AmCham EU in November 2014 as Operations Director. Prior to joining AmCham EU, Max worked the preceding two years at the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) as Head of the Business Operations (initially, he was the Financial controller). Max worked as external auditor for PwC Argentina for five years before relocating to Belgium. In Brussels, he continued his professional experience at PwC for five years before becoming Internal audit supervisor at TE Connectivity.
Max is a Chartered accountant from the University of La Matanza (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and also graduated from the Executive Master in Management at Solvay Business School.
Max has both Belgian and Argentinean nationalities. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of French.
She is the Office Manager at AmCham EU Secretariat. She graduated in Modern Languages/Secretarial Management from the Hogeschool HONIM in Brussels. Conny is of Belgian nationality, is married and has 1 son, Bjorn.
She is fluent in English, Dutch, French and German.
Masha joined AmCham EU in December 2021 as a Digital Transformation Project Manager. Prior to joining AmCham EU, Masha worked for several years for Shell in various leadership roles across marketing, sales and business development covering Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Asia Pacific and European markets. Before relocating to Belgium, Masha also worked in several media companies as a Marketing Director for TV and movie production and distribution.
Masha holds Master’s degree in Economics and Marketing and a professional business coach certification (PCC ICF).
Masha is a Russian national. She is fluent in English, Russian, has a working knowledge of Dutch and is learning French.
Rosaria Sciaccaluga joined AmCham EU in August 1990 as Junior Secretary responsible for sending out mailings to the members. In 1993, Rosaria joined the Communications Department and she was responsible for the distribution and sale of all AmCham EU publications. In 1998 she joined the Policy Team as Secretary and her position changed to Events Coordinator/Administrative Assistant.
Rosa is an Italian national. She is fluent in English and French.
