How influencing EU policymaking has changed
On Wednesday, 28 January, Thibaut L'Ortye, Senior Director of Public Affairs, represented AmCham EU at the launch of Hanover Communications’ Power Shift series. During the discussion, Mr L'Ortye highlighted how influence in EU policymaking has evolved over time, with shifts in tactics and approaches reflecting a changing political environment. He also addressed the interactions between the EU institutions, emphasising the importance of tailoring advocacy strategies to the specific roles and dynamics of each institution. Mr L'Ortye further noted how an increasingly complex geopolitical environment is shaping policy priorities and influencing the way businesses operate. The panel also included Brian Hayes, CEO, Banking and Payments Federation Ireland and Claire Boussagol, former Managing Director, Euractiv.
