Membership update: AmCham EU welcomes new member companies

We are delighted to announce our membership has grown as Energizer, Lucid Motors and Reed Smith LLP have been approved as new members. We wish a warm welcome to our new members and look forward to working closely on our advocacy efforts in the future.

Energizer manufactures, markets, and distributes household batteries, specialty batteries, and lighting products worldwide. They are based in Missouri, United States and employee 6,000 people. 

Lucid Motors is an American technology and automotive company headquartered in California, United States that designs, engineers, and builds electric vehicles, EV powertrains, and battery systems. 

Reed Smith LLP is a global law firm based in Pennsylvania, United States employing more than 1,700 lawyers globally.

Connecting with APAs and group policy advisers

AmCham EU hosted its Spring reception with Accredited Parliamentary Assistants (APAs) and group policy advisers in Brussels on Thursday, 23 April. The event gave members the chance to meet with European Parliament staff and build stronger connections. APAs and group policy advisers play an important role in the EU policy process. The reception helped support open dialogue between the public and private sectors. Roberta Brumana, Outreach Director, AmCham EU, opened the evening by welcoming guests and highlighting the value of working together to support effective policymaking.

Bridging pay gaps through transparency

At the European Association Summit & Awards 2026, Maximiliano Santy, Senior Director of Operations, AmCham EU, spoke at a session organised by the European Society of Association Executives Finance & HR Community on salary transparency and the gender pay gap. Taking place on Thursday, 26 March, he outlined the implications of the EU Pay Transparency Directive for organisations and highlighted the importance of objective, transparent criteria in addressing pay disparities. He also emphasised the need to align compensation practices with legal requirements while supporting fairness, accountability and trust across the workplace. Natalie Bastiaens, Partner, Tax and Legal Services; Kathleen Bracke, Managing Associate, Social Legal, BDO and Martina Schusterova, Director, Energy Traders Europe also joined the panel.

The discussion covered a wide range of issues, including the state of global trade, transatlantic relations and economic security. Speakers explored why open trade plays a critical role in Europe's competitiveness.
