AmCham EU welcomes the Council of the EU’s completion of the general conditions under which non-EU countries can exceptionally be invited to participate in individual Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) projects. This paves the way for cooperation and greater like-minded third-country participation in EU defence initiatives. Our member companies look forward to the opportunity to join PESCO projects and continue contributing to a stronger and more secure EU and its European Defence Technological Industrial Base (EDTIB). Stronger cooperation in this sphere also benefits and ensures a stronger transatlantic defence technological and industrial cooperation (TADIC). AmCham EU, therefore, outlines key recommendations to ensure the governance rules for PESCO projects allow for close transatlantic cooperation and a strong EDTIB through the support of like-minded third-country entities.
