A technical, standards-based EU Cybersecurity Certification Scheme that is achieved through open consultations and that excludes non-technical criteria, can benefit businesses, citizens and the European economy as a whole. To achieve this, contractual sovereignty requirements should be fully removed from the final EUCS text and Member States should consistently apply its standards across the region once it is implemented.
