AmCham EU supports the Commission’s approach to strengthen international efforts against counterfeiting and piracy and to encourage sustainable and meaningful actions to prevent IP violations throughout the global supply chain. Included is our full statement in response to the public consultation on the Counterfeit and Piracy Watch List, as well as a list of physical and online counterfeit and piracy marketplaces. The list compiled, should not be considered as exhaustive, but we hope it will help bring some clarity on some of the different business models and actors that can be engaged with their governments to tackle counterfeiting and piracy. We hope that the Counterfeiting and Piracy Watch List will be used as a basis to strengthen enforcement and the European framework for IPR protection to prevent these large-scale commercial entities from continuing to target European consumers, and to move towards a safer and more sustainable digital environment.
