On Wednesday, 17 September, AmCham EU joined 19 other associations and POLITICO to mark Brussels’ return from the summer break at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. The event drew over 1,500 guests, including Andrew Puzder, US Ambassador to the EU. The evening provided a platform for stakeholders from industry, politics, civil society and media to connect. This year’s conversations focused on Europe’s place in a changing world and the policies needed to boost growth, investment and global competitiveness.

Connecting with APAs and group policy advisers
AmCham EU hosted its Spring reception with Accredited Parliamentary Assistants (APAs) and group policy advisers in Brussels on Thursday, 23 April. The event gave members the chance to meet with European Parliament staff and build stronger connections. APAs and group policy advisers play an important role in the EU policy process. The reception helped support open dialogue between the public and private sectors. Roberta Brumana, Outreach Director, AmCham EU, opened the evening by welcoming guests and highlighting the value of working together to support effective policymaking.

Bridging pay gaps through transparency
At the European Association Summit & Awards 2026, Maximiliano Santy, Senior Director of Operations, AmCham EU, spoke at a session organised by the European Society of Association Executives Finance & HR Community on salary transparency and the gender pay gap. Taking place on Thursday, 26 March, he outlined the implications of the EU Pay Transparency Directive for organisations and highlighted the importance of objective, transparent criteria in addressing pay disparities. He also emphasised the need to align compensation practices with legal requirements while supporting fairness, accountability and trust across the workplace. Natalie Bastiaens, Partner, Tax and Legal Services; Kathleen Bracke, Managing Associate, Social Legal, BDO and Martina Schusterova, Director, Energy Traders Europe also joined the panel.

On Thursday, 26 March, Kim Watts, Policy Director, AmCham EU joined a panel discussion on trade, e-commerce and supply chains in a fragmenting global economy. The discussion covered a wide range of issues, including the state of global trade, transatlantic relations and economic security.
