Sparking a digital policy dialogue

On Friday, 22 September, AmCham EU’s Digitial Economy Committee hosted a meeting to hear from senior policymakers from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology. The guest speakers covered key policy topics like artificial intelligence, the European Cybersecurity Certification Scheme for Cloud Services, the Data Act, the EU Cyber Solidarity Act, the Cyber Resilience Act and the EU-US Cyber Dialogue. The discussion emphasised the importance of engagement between industry and policymakers to secure alignment and future cooperation on digital issues between Europe and the US.

Sparking a digital policy dialogue

On Friday, 22 September, AmCham EU’s Digitial Economy Committee hosted a meeting to hear from senior policymakers from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology. During the meeting, attendees heard from Pierre Chastanet, Head of Unit, Cloud and Software; Killian Gross, Head of Unit, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Industry; Bjoern Juretzki, Head of Unit, Data Policy and Innovation; Thomas Skordas, Deputy Director-General and Christiane Kirketerp de Viron, Head of Unit, Cybersecurity and Digital Privacy Policy, Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, European Commission.

Discussing digital policy priorities with MEPs in Strasbourg

From Monday, 9 to Wednesday, 11 March 2026, AmCham EU travelled to the European Parliament in Strasbourg for a series of meetings with policymakers to discuss ongoing EU digital policy initiatives. The delegation met with  members of the European Parliament, accredited parliamentary assistants and group policy advisers , to discuss priorities for the EU’s digital agenda. This includes exchanges on AI Omnibus, Digital Omnibus, Cybersecurity Act review, the Digital Networks Act and the upcoming Cloud and AI Development Act. Throughout the meetings, members emphasised the importance of urgent action to support the simplification of overlapping digital rules, strengthening cybersecurity while avoiding fragmentation in the Single Market and supporting innovation through proportionate, risk-based regulation.
