Building bridges and encouraging entrepreneurship with our Executive Council
From Tuesday, 27 June to Wednesday, 28 June, AmCham EU’s Executive Council held a series of engagements with leaders on both sides of the Atlantic. The group started off by meeting with Humza Yousaf, First Minister, Scottish Government to discuss relations between Scotland, Europe and the US. They next met with Didier Reynders, Commissioner for Justice, Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, European Commission to look broadly at the attractiveness of Europe for industry and how to boost competitiveness through business involvement.

Later in the day, members of the Executive Council deliberated over the winner of the 2023 Youth Entrepreneurship Winner. The day concluded at the US Tri-Mission Independence Day Celebration with the US mission to the EU. On Wednesday, 28 June, the Executive Council had the opportunity to join AmCham EU’s Transatlantic Task Force for a trade meeting with Radoslaw Sikorski (EPP, PL) to discuss Free Trade Agreements and how to minimise burdens on companies looking to invest and grow in Europe.

Discussing digital policy priorities with MEPs in Strasbourg
From Monday, 9 to Wednesday, 11 March 2026, AmCham EU travelled to the European Parliament in Strasbourg for a series of meetings with policymakers to discuss ongoing EU digital policy initiatives. The delegation met with members of the European Parliament, accredited parliamentary assistants and group policy advisers , to discuss priorities for the EU’s digital agenda. This includes exchanges on AI Omnibus, Digital Omnibus, Cybersecurity Act review, the Digital Networks Act and the upcoming Cloud and AI Development Act. Throughout the meetings, members emphasised the importance of urgent action to support the simplification of overlapping digital rules, strengthening cybersecurity while avoiding fragmentation in the Single Market and supporting innovation through proportionate, risk-based regulation.

Getting the view from Washington, DC with Jovita Neliupšienė, EU Ambassador to the US
On Thursday, 12 March, AmCham EU hosted Jovita Neliupšienė, EU Ambassador to the US for a townhall discussion on the outlook for EU–US relations and the evolving economic and geopolitical environment shaping the transatlantic partnership. Moderated by Malte Lohan, CEO, AmCham EU, participants reflected on the importance of maintaining a strong and stable transatlantic relationship that continues to underpin investment, innovation and jobs on both sides of the Atlantic.
The discussion explored perspectives from Washington on the current state of the partnership, the work of the EU Delegation in engaging US policymakers in Washington, DC and the outlook for transatlantic trade and economic cooperation. Participants also examined how the EU and the US can preserve open investment flows, avoid escalation in trade tensions and work together to address shared challenges such as global overcapacity and supply chain resilience.

Joint industry statement urges review of product sustainability labelling
Together with 14 industry associations from various sectors, AmCham EU has signed a joint statement calling for the withdrawal of horizontal label requirements under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation. While supporting the objective of improving the sustainability of products placed on the EU market and providing transparent information to consumers, the group warn that introducing horizontal labelling requirements without specific metrics and methodologies risks creating regulatory complexity and consumer confusion. The signatoires urges EU policymakers to instead address the need for a label and potential related requirements through product-specific measures supported by robust methodologies.
