At the European Association Summit & Awards 2026, Maximiliano Santy, Senior Director of Operations, AmCham EU, spoke at a session organised by the European Society of Association Executives Finance & HR Community on salary transparency and the gender pay gap. Taking place on Thursday, 26 March, he outlined the implications of the EU Pay Transparency Directive for organisations and highlighted the importance of objective, transparent criteria in addressing pay disparities. He also emphasised the need to align compensation practices with legal requirements while supporting fairness, accountability and trust across the workplace. Natalie Bastiaens, Partner, Tax and Legal Services; Kathleen Bracke, Managing Associate, Social Legal, BDO and Martina Schusterova, Director, Energy Traders Europe also joined the panel.

Celebrating Gala 2026
On Thursday, 4 June AmCham EU held its annual Gala evening at the Africa Palace in Tervuren. The evening brought together guests for a celebration of the transatlantic community, and began with a cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner. Malte Lohan, CEO and Liam Benham (Boeing), Chair, AmCham EU opened the evening with welcome remarks, before Andrew Puzder, US Ambassador to the EU delivered a celebratory toast.
Guests then enjoyed a special performance from Ettore Pagano, First Prize laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition Cello 2026, who was accompanied on piano by Naoko Sonoda.
Capping off the evening was this year’s AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award, organised in collaboration with JA Europe. Eva Maydell, MEP (EPP, BG) introduced the finalists and presented the award to Elenya Spiteri, CEO, Medilert. The Maltese start-up was recognised for its smart medication management system designed to support older adults and caregivers. Learn more here.

Connecting with APAs and group policy advisers
AmCham EU hosted its Spring reception with Accredited Parliamentary Assistants (APAs) and group policy advisers in Brussels on Thursday, 23 April. The event gave members the chance to meet with European Parliament staff and build stronger connections. APAs and group policy advisers play an important role in the EU policy process. The reception helped support open dialogue between the public and private sectors. Roberta Brumana, Outreach Director, AmCham EU, opened the evening by welcoming guests and highlighting the value of working together to support effective policymaking.
