AmCham EU speaks at European Parliament event hosted by MEP Maydell
Claudia Selli, Executive Director for EU Legislative and Political Affairs at AT&T, and Chair of the Digital Economy Committee of AmCham EU, spoke on Wednesday, 5 September 2018 at the third workshop of ‘Think Digital!’ 2018. The title of the event was ‘Data Economies Across the Globe: Who's Taking the Lead for Innovation?’.
Ms. Selli spoke about how digital technologies made it possible for companies to improve their services by creating user-centric experiences. This comes also with an increased responsibility for data management. In order to foster innovation in a secure environment, it is essential to adopt a flexible policy framework, boost research & innovation, streamline rules across sectors and countries as well as enable cross-border data flows.
The event was hosted by Member of the European Parliament Eva Maydell and co-organised by the European Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), the Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie (ZVEI), Google and Siemens.
Other speakers included Eva Maydell (Member of the European Parliament), Radu Surdeanu (Senior Director Digital Economy, Siemens Government Affairs EU) and Antoine Larpin (Vice-Chair of Digital Committee, Japan Business Council in Europe).
