AmCham EU convenes industry leaders on sustainable finance
On Wednesday, 5 December 2018, AmCham EU hosted a roundtable discussion with 15 industry associations on the European Commission’s sustainable finance package.
As the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24) began in Katowice, the discussion brought together associations from across the financial sector and the real economy for an exchange of views on the Commission’s recent proposals, published in May.
Participants agreed that the Commission’s efforts to mobilise finance for sustainable growth are a crucial step forward in the fight against climate change. They agreed to strengthen their cooperation and redouble efforts to provide practical input to the ongoing discussions in the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament, and to the preparatory work underway in the Commission’s Technical Expert Group.
