Research shows that companies with diverse leadership attract top talent, have more satisfied employees and increase their financial returns. In an increasingly competitive workforce, cultivating diverse leaders that support an inclusive and equitable workplace is more important than ever. The number of women in business leadership, however, remains low: only a quarter of leadership positions in companies and public institutions in Europe are occupied by women. Many companies and institutions are working to increase diversity in their teams, but challenges remain. We will explore this issue at the Gender Initiatives Task Force breakfast discussion.

Lowri Evans, Director-General of DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, European Commission
