Through the Communication: ‘2030 Digital Compass: the European Way for the Digital Decade’, the European Commission has presented a vision, targets and avenues towards a successful digital transformation. The Communication puts the EU’s digital ambitions for 2030 into concrete terms as well as proposing the development of a framework of digital principles and promoting the EU’s digital agenda internationally. AmCham EU shares the European Commission’s ambition to make the 2020s Europe’s digital decade’. To ensure that the objectives of the digital compass are met, AmCham EU provides recommendations on the importance of building and maintaining international partnerships, facilitating broad stakeholder participation, accelerating investment and innovation, and enhancing the digital skills and inclusion. As AmCham EU, we are confident that should these recommendations be followed, Europe’s ‘digital decade’ will not only be realised, but will have a positive, tangible effect on Europe’s society moving forward.
