In June 2015, the European Council will assess the state of the EU’s defence industry and capabilities, as well as provide recommendations for strengthening it. European heads of state will draw on input from the European Commission, the High Representative and the European Defence Agency. In the current environment of limited national defence budgets and the need to do more with less, the time is right to determine the best way to ensure that a strong European Defence Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB) remains open to robust transatlantic collaboration in areas such as supply security and industrial partnerships.
Join us for a discussion with Maciej Popowski, Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS) on the opportunities that lie ahead for transatlantic defence cooperation.
