Profile

The Enlargement and Wider Europe Committee's mission is to further monitor the enlargement process with candidate countries1, potential candidate countries2, and more generally, the cooperation process with countries to which the European Neighbourhood Policy3 and the Eastern Partnership4 applies, as well as countries aiming at integrating into the EU (e.g. Iceland and Russia). The aim of the committee is to informally engage political leaders and officials from the European institutions and from these countries for debates on political and economic issues as well as on business and investment climate issues.

2  Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia (including Kosovo under UN Security Council Resolution 1244).
3  Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova. Morocco. the Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia, and Ukraine.
